What is steamed chicken with mushrooms?

Steamed chicken with mushrooms is a traditional Cantonese dish. The gentle cooking method helps to retain the chicken's moisture, resulting in a tender texture. In China, the chicken is steamed with bones, but it can also be deboned first. The main ingredients for chicken with mushrooms are chicken pieces, shiitake mushroom strips, ginger strips, and goji berries

How to cook chicken with mushrooms

We recommend using chicken drumstick meat for this dish, preferably with skin but without bones. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces. For each drumstick, take about 3 large shiitake mushrooms. Cut the mushrooms and a small piece of ginger into strips. Marinate with oyster sauce, sugar, and salt. Spread everything out flat on a plate and steam for about 10 minutes. For detailed instructions, please see the recipe below.
